For over 30 years, John Henry has celebrated his birthday at the Laurelthirst. A long time veteran of the East Side Sound, he has toured with the Tree Frogs, Funk Shui, One World, Northwest Passage, as well as fronting the John Henry Band. This edition features local heroes Kate O’Brien (Portland Family Band) on vocals and violin, Tree Frog brothers Sean Nowland (bass), Jeff Duffy (drums), Jeff Haigerty (harmonica, keys), Hammerhead’s guitar god, Ben Haynor, and local jazz hero Chris McCurdy on saxophone. He will be playing all the old favorites as well as brand new tunes from his upcoming album Apple Tree.
