Russell Street Jam formed in 2016 as a collection of Portland musicians who love to play the music of John Scofield with Medeski Martin and Wood.  Since then, RSJ has expanded their repertoire to include originals, Jerry Garcia Band classics and a broad selection of groove-oriented roots music. RSJ features Michael Raynor on drums (Von Freeman, Bob Shepard), Justin John on guitar (Garcia Birthday Band) , Julio Appling on upright bass (The Student Loan) and Edward Connel on keys.
