The Pagan Jug Band is an all-acoustic, boot-stompin’ band featuring a mean banjo and a rockin’ guitar – throw in more strings, some brass, and a washboard and you’ve got a band that really knows how to get folks out of their seats and onto the dance floor! On any given Tuesday in Portland you’ll see them playing their weekly “Pagan Tuesday” show – where the band sometimes swells up to 10 members as long-time fans and random passers-by join them on stage to keep the music communal. The Pagans have a large body of original songs that they mix seamlessly with carefully curated covers and traditionals.

Ford released her debut EP, Bobbypin Graveyard, in 2016, followed by her debut full-length, Sugarcane, in 2019. She and Sallie released their first album together, a country album as The Barbaras, in late 2022; Weezy’s partner, Mark Robertson, who records much of her music, mixed and provided backing vocals.
“We definitely grew up listening to a lot of classic country, like Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams,” she says. “Sallie had this idea of wanting to make country music, and so we had one song that we co-wrote together at first, and then it sort of evolved from there.”

Lola Sauvageot is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and performer. With her smooth, languid voice, she sings of intimacy, our relationship with nature, and love, set to a pop-rock sound infused with psychedelic guitars and shoegaze influences. Somewhere between Courtney Barnett and Julia Jacklin, she nevertheless writes in French. Her first EP, L’Animale, was released in the spring of 2025.

With what PopMatters describes as “tenacious swagger,” critically-acclaimed solo artist Ashleigh Flynn recently dialed up the volume and debuted an all-female rock band as a nod to the “Rosie the Riveter” archetype from WWII.
Flynn grew up in Kentucky and cut her teeth on local bluegrass music and Motown. A prolific songwriter and performer blessed with unbridled charisma, she arrived on the Americana scene in 2008 with the release of her third LP, American Dream, a poetic lament to the elusiveness of that national ethos. A Million Stars followed in 2013 – a rollicking journey celebrating the women pioneers of the American West.
Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters’ inaugural LP hit the streets in 2018 featuring a sound that hearkens back to early Stones, ‘70s psychedelic country rock, and alternately charms like a Sunday afternoon front porch session…

Josh Cole has been playing bluegrass in the Pacific Northwest for over 25 years. It started in the late 90s, when he first heard “Midnight Moonlight” from Old and In the Way. That moment forever bonded Josh to bluegrass music.
He went on to serve as President of the Oregon Bluegrass Association and continues to host “Music From the True Vine” on KBOO-FM, the longest running bluegrass show West of the Mississippi.
Josh’s influences include Ralph Stanley, Larry Sparks, and Bill Monroe, many of whom are featured on the Josh Cole Bluegrass Show, his podcast with nearly 200 episodes of traditional bluegrass recordings.
Josh has played in dozens of bands, along with running his own hard-driving bluegrass band for nearly two decades. That’s why hometown fans have lovingly nicknamed him “The Elvis of Portland Bluegrass.”

Event Details

Wes Youssi is a singer & songwriter of country music. Though originally hailing from the woods of Boone County, Illinois, he’s called Oregon home since 1995. In his short life of 38 some odd years he has: bused tables in Indiana, punched a man in the face, been laid-off, married, made kids, lived in Detroit, ate a cockroach, shot down a tree, and unknowingly purchased a former cop car.
With his original songs and loyal companions he: plays bars, sweats hard, and meets all kinds of great people along the way to which he is eternally grateful.
On Tin Corazón wandering bass, keening pedal steel, martial percussion forms a foundation over which Delgado’s dusky vocals glide like swallows greeting twilight. It is flecked with post-punk grit, drenched in reverb and mesquite smoke. Dubbed “Dark Desert Swoon”, Tin Corazón is expansive, haunting, and undeniably engaging.
The tale of Delgado begins at age twenty, our native New Mexican newly arrived in Chicago with $20 in his pocket, a Fender Mustang, and couches to surf. He cut his teeth playing solo acoustic shows in the best of the worst bars, from sleazy dives to the back room of a filthy taqueria in Wicker Park. After building a hard-won career playing in shoegaze and punk bands around the Chicago scene and touring regionally, it was soon once again time to head the call of the wandering spirit. Delgado recalls, “I gave myself until I was 33 years old to try and build a career as a musician in Chicago. After that, I figured that it was time to cut my losses.”
Delgado headed east, attending design school in Detroit. After a decade in the Motor City, he once again pulled stakes. “I was going through a painful break-up and had to lay my cat to rest on the same day I moved into my own apartment” he tells. “I moved to California a few months later, and it just went from bad to worse. The stress of that situation just wasn’t allowing me to process all the changes and heartache. That’s when the music just started flowing out of me. And from that moment forward, I just kept on writing to exorcise the demons.”
What resulted was Tin Corazón, Delgado’s first release after ten years of silence. The songs on Tin Corazón were born from heartache, regret, anger, salvation, and everything in between. The more he wrote, the more the songs touched on modern social issues. “I think the isolation of these times forces us to stop and take deeper notice of our immediate surroundings, and that includes trying to understand our place in the world” Delgado explains.
Tracked remotely across four states during the pandemic with his band, Los Conejos De Amor (The Rabbits of Love), Tin Corazón was arranged, produced and mixed by Jason Davis at Off The Cuff Sound. The two had first come together when Davis had tracked a demo for Delgado’s band Toro, Toro, Toro!!!. They clicked and knew they would work together again. In late 2019 they reconnected, and Delgado started sending Davis demos.
“As we’ve grown more comfortable working together, I spend less time sweating the fine details early on and just send over a rough idea” tells Delgado. “In this way, the instrumentation has become a bit more stream of consciousness. Instead of trying to control the wild horse, we just jump on and let the ride take us wherever we end up.”
In production, they focused more on the vibe of a take rather than chasing perfection. “It’s the first time I let go of the reins and stopped being overbearing about direction. I just kind of pointed us in a direction and let it happen.” Combining Delgado’s surf guitar tones and the pervasive atmospherics drawn from his shoegaze days, Tin Corazón breathes deeply of his New Mexican roots. The traditional Mariachi 1950s Rock n’ Roll and the country-western music that soundtracked his youth echo throughout the record. In essence, “These songs are a return to a life of music I thought I lost. And I don’t take that lightly.”
So, we have Tin Corazón, an immersive work of art that draws you in like a great work of prose – and satisfies such the same. Give yourself over to Delgado, for it is a broad and deeply human journey through which he guides us.

Expanding on their love of American R&B, The Resolectrics are a rock & soul power trio exploring the vast landscapes of roots music with layered harmonies, multi-tonal guitar tracks, and ambitious arrangements. Since releasing their “Booker T. meets The Band” debut record, High Water, guitarist Tate Peterson, drummer John Becher, and bassist Bob Dunham have honed a leaner, meaner approach through continuous gigging and constant refinement. The name Bikini Drone evokes two recent interests: music that only makes sense in tropical climates, and music that sounds like washing machines wrote it. In the context of a patio with loud overlapping conversations, Martin and Yahn’s vocals sounded like more instruments in the ensemble, which included saxophone player Owen Evans. The timbre of their voices conveyed less lyrical stories and more added a tenor section that helped punctuate their bandmates’ funk-disco jams. The band’s tempo and energy waxed and waned with the audience, with the same symbiotic exchange DJs process on a dance floor in real time. People got up to dance at the two-hour set’s height, but six to eight of the two dozen patio guests stood rotating watch, swaying or at least nodding to the beat.
Reisender is the musical endeavor of west-coast songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Paul Conroy. Conroy crafts upbeat, moody, and eclectic synth & guitar-driven indie-pop anthems, and has opened for national artists including Drake Bell, Eisley, and Hippo Campus. His single “Generation 1099” has been described as “a seriously replay-worthy track” by the Bay Bridged, and his 2021 Album Fmly as “an indie/alt festival-ready collection of gems” by FourCulture. Reisender has toured across the western US as well as in Europe and Korea, and boasts both an international and local following. Conroy’s greatest personal influences are Paul Simon, Damon Albarn, Pixies, and Paul McCartney.
https://www.shilohmaemusic.com/
Shiloh first began sharing her songs as a solo artist in 2018. She’s a bit of a throwback, Mazzy Star fading into Sheryl Crow, with vocals many have likened to Dolores O’Riordan. She cites influences from 70’s folk classics, to 90s soft rock, to the indie pop of today. Her debut EP, All My Metaphors, released on April 22, 2022, is just an introduction to her emotive, image-driven lyricism.
Previously, she wrote and played with her band, Bird and Willow, formed with her brother Jared. Bird and Willow shared many Bay Area stages over the years, both with fellow local artists and some of their favorite touring acts like Sherwood, Fialta, Tyson Motsenbocker, The Collection, and Mike Edel. Shiloh has also performed alongside Zach Winters, Josiah Johnson (former member of The Head and the Heart), and Landon Elliott.

Kris Deelane is making a loud noise in the Portland Rock scene. With her nine piece soul band The Hurt, Kris is amping up her performances in and around Portland and the Pacific Northwest. A true road warrior with years of solid touring experience, Kris is keeping it local and in the moment with shows all over town. From The Alberta Rose Theatre to The Doug Fir, McMenamin’s Edgefield to Al’s Den at the Crystal and a standing residency at Laurelthirst Public House, she and the band are everywhere. Summer 2015, Kris Deelane and The Hurt performed at Oregon Country Fair, What The Festival, and Dixie Festival, and also opened for 3 Dog Night, and Martha Davis and the Motels.
The Hurt is ten players strong and features a number of Portland music luminaries including Ned Failing (Mexican Gun Fight/Floydian Slips) on drums, Steve Kerin on keys (Too Loose Cajun Band, Atomic Gumbo, Rose City Kings and winner of the Cascade Blues Association’s “Keyboardist of the Year”), Greg Hyatt on bass (Five Easy Pieces, Zoo People, Berthaline, and Lapdog, featuring members of Toad The Wet Sprocket), Heidi Shuler (Merl Saunders) on percussion and Alan Toribio (Mexican Gunfight) on guitar. With her backing singers, The Lady Parts, and horn section, Kris is dipping into deep cuts and old school favorites from the soul sounds of the 60’s and 70’s. Think Motown to Memphis, Stax to Atlantic records, Aretha to Etta. It’s all here!

https://www.facebook.com/paganjugband

Event Details

Sammy Brue embodies the kind of wisdom, talent and natural empathy that are often signs of age and maturity, and yet at 15 years old, he can place himself in the shoes of others, real or fictionalized, and write stories about them. “He’s a student of East Nashville, not Greenwich Village, budding from this new folk resurgence in fascinating ways.” ~ Rolling Stone Country
Though Sammy may appear quiet and unassuming, his songs speak volumes. From busking at Sundance at the age of 10, to opening for Justin Townes Earle, John Paul White, Lucinda Williams and John Moreland to mention a few, and performing at Summerfest, and the Newport Folk Festival, you will be hearing a lot about Sammy Brue as he stands on the precipice of what appears to be a long and ever-evolving creative journey.
“This is a special record to me. Unlike the past few, this one sounds like a more cohesive ‘band’ statement. Most of it was cut together live, in a room over five days. Rob, Elliott, and I had been playing for a long time with Mikey and then Hawes on drums, and while the music always felt great, the ‘band’ feeling hadn’t made its way into the recording studio. ‘Time Spent In Between’ and ‘Sending Money and Stems’ were very pieced together albums; me playing most of the instruments, collaborating with many different drummers but working one song at a time, etc. However, when Jeff moved back from Nashville and joined the band, it felt more cohesive. Maybe we gelled because Jeff came from the same musical world. In our little family Jeff championed nicknames, Elliott invented musical travel games, and Rob and I rolled our eyes at their enthusiasm for Arby’s. We travelled around sharing our art and feeling free. When we went to Enterprise, OR to record the first session, most of the songs were learned on the spot. We strove for the zenith moments when we knew the song well enough to not make errors but still had to fly by the seats of our pants to keep it from coming unglued. Everything has an arc like this. After all, when you know something well enough you can take the present for granted. After those sessions we toured our new songs for a year (it usually goes the other way around) and decided some of the songs were misunderstood the first time so we recorded them again, live and together. I am thankful and proud of that process and proud of them. The music captured on this record occurred in very special moments between four people who had a special bond, musically and beyond. We hope you enjoy it.”

Imagine Tammy Wynette crossed with the Ventures and you’ll have an idea of the sonic world of Americana artist Stacy Antonel’s forthcoming EP, The Seahorses: Volume 1. Always a genre-defying artist, Antonel blends her passion for classic country, jazz and surf rock with this collection of songs, and the result is a fresh hybrid of musical styles that feels both vintage and hyper-modern. Recorded at Nashville’s Fitting Room Studio, the band includes heavy hitters Ethan Ballinger (Miranda Lambert), Joe Reed (Merle Haggard), Paul Sgroi (Josh Hedley) and San Diego jazz phenom Tony Econom.
Thea The Band is Cosmic American Music from the Heart, for the Soul
Thea The Band is a diamond in the rough singer/songwriter with a sound that is indeed ‘Cosmic American.’ A blend of country/folk honest lyrics, emotive shades of soul/blues, and textures of indie rock. With a peppered history in relation to her strict Catholic upbringing, the theme of God, the devil, and the many vices that struggle can lead to often find their way into her songwriting. Otherwise, love, heartbreak, and the magic of both are lifeblood. Revealing that inside the beauty of our differences is also where we find our commonalities is the gift the listener receives from a Thea The Band live performance. A Denver, Colorado native who found her songwriting voice later in life, and about 1,000 miles west in San Diego, these songs have the magic that comes from having lived them. Love, hope, and honesty are timeless, palpable, and palatable; with Thea The Band there is always a silver lining.

The band’s latest record, Open Seas, adds some timeless, British Invasion-style psychedelia to the mix along with a touch of horns and harmonica that help reconnect the music to its soul-based heritage.
